Serials For Sale

When I was a kid, I would read about serials in magazines and hear about them from my parents and there was even a great book on them called TO BE CONTINUED that came out when I was a teenager. But there was no place to actually SEE these chapter plays. In time a few local stations started running FLASH GORDON chapters and DICK TRACY chapters were shown with a weekly kiddie matinee in the early seventies but for the most part, these were long gone and forgotten. But not today. In fact, today a huge percentage of them have survived and are now available through various sources including my shared DVD site BOOKSTEVE RARITIES where you will find the best quality transfers on these rare and uniquely entertaining films you will ever see. Here are just SOME of the many, many cliffhanger serials we offer! And they are all $7.00 each unless marked otherwise! Order in bulk and your postage is only $6.00 per order no matter how many DVDs you order. For the whole list and ordering info, go here: http://oldtimeradiotapes.homestead.com/StevenSiteSerials.html

Vaughn Bode IF Art-1967-1968

From the first time I discovered his work in NATIONAL LAMPOON, Vaughn Bode has been one of my favorite artists. My seventies notebooks are filled with my attempts to draw in his unique cartoony style. I was devastated when he died. Something I had never seen before was his serious art, a whole batch of which can be seen here from the Sci-Fi digest IF in 67-68. The magazine was a treasure trove of illustrators at that time and Bode could be found mixed in with veterans like Virgil Finlay and Wally Wood alongside newcomers like Jeff Jones and the always welcome Gray Morrow.
