Straight Arrow's Politically Incorrect Ad O' the Day-1952

  1. Reader John H sends the following insights:

As a kid I used to collect Injun-uities right from the box---two or three to a box. The taught woodcraft, and Indian crafts and lore. In fact, stuff one learned in Boy Scouts and even more.

In terms of the times, sixty years ago, character nor the word were not politically incorrect; it was a play on the word 'ingenuity'. Straight Arrow was an Indian (yes, I still use that word) posing as a white rancher, while fighting crime as his Indian self. In truth, he was a good role model for kids of the late forties and early fifties.
